Welcome to Skriv: A New Approach to Academic Integrity

For years, schools have struggled with a fundamental problem: how do you verify that student work is authentic?

The traditional approach has been detection—AI checkers, plagiarism scanners, and surveillance tools that treat every student as a potential cheater. But these tools are fundamentally broken. AI detection has an 86% accuracy rate, meaning 1 in 7 students could be falsely accused. That's not a solution; it's a new problem.

We built Skriv with a different philosophy: process transparency instead of adversarial detection.

Instead of trying to catch cheaters after the fact, Skriv captures the entire writing journey. Teachers can replay how any document was created—every keystroke, every edit, every contributor. They can see the time spent, the revisions made, and the natural flow of authentic writing.

This approach has three major benefits:

1. No false accusations. When you can see the writing process, you don't need to guess whether something was AI-generated.

2. Better feedback. Teachers can see where students struggled, what they revised, and how their thinking developed.

3. Fair group work. Color-coded attribution shows exactly who wrote what in collaborative projects.

We're starting our pilot program with schools in Denmark and Germany—two countries where GDPR has already pushed schools away from Google Docs and into an uncomfortable void.

If you're a teacher or administrator interested in trying Skriv with your class, we'd love to hear from you. The pilot is free, and we're actively seeking feedback to make the product better.

Welcome to a new era of writing in schools. Welcome to Skriv.
