At Skriv, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email, school affiliation, and the content you create in our editor. We also collect usage data including keystroke timing (for process tracking), session duration, and feature usage. We do NOT collect unnecessary personal data, and we never sell your information.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide our services (the writing editor and process tracking), to improve our product, and to communicate with you about your account. Process data (keystrokes, timing) is used solely for the educational purpose of showing writing development.
Data Storage & Security
All data is stored on EU servers (Hetzner, Germany). We use encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access to production data is strictly limited and audited.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your school has an active account. Upon account termination, data is deleted within 30 days. You can request data export or deletion at any time.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. You can also object to processing or request restriction. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@skriv.app.
Children's Privacy
Skriv is designed for educational use by students under teacher supervision. We process student data only as directed by schools, acting as a data processor under school data processing agreements.
